NEW POD & My Final Thoughts on 2019

A SOLO POD! It’s just me recapping the College Football Playoff Semifinals and NFL Week 17. I then give my end of the decade retrospective (~28:00) talking about where I’ve been through the last decade as well as various different sports then and now. Have a safe new year and make sure to subscribe to the podcast so you don’t miss an episode in 2020!

Now for my final thoughts on 2019. It has been an interesting year here at the Thunderblog. The podcast is doing great and that’s thanks to you all for supporting and keeping it finely tuned. I went back to read my final thoughts on 2018 and the goals I set there for this. We were able to accomplish some, there was more hockey podcasting for the rest of the 2018-19 season, we had plenty of guest pickers come on during the football season, my editing has gotten a bit better. Matt and Greg once again brought the fiery passion that we’ve come to know and love and I can’t wait to see what 2020 will bring with them on this crazy ride. To all the guest hosts (Emily, Jarred, Seth, and Mike) and guest pickers (Jack, Zak, Kiefer, Joemart, etc.), I appreciate you all taking the time to hop on and talk all this nonsense with me. I’m glad none of us went broke.

There were, however, some goals I didn’t accomplish. We haven’t really gotten back into the hockey podcasting for this season, which should change now that football reaching its climax. Most notably was my blogging. Since starting the podcast almost three years ago, the blogging side of the Thunderblog has gone back and forth. Part of that has been a transitional year for me professionally and part of it is laziness. I don’t want to bog down on it too much, because this is supposed to be about the positive things in 2019, but I have to be transparent with you as listeners/readers/supporters.

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed my decade retrospective on the podcast and this little rant about the year that was. In 2020, I’m setting the goal to podcast more. I would like to set up the Sunday night podcast if only to talk golf since it has been a sport I’ve paid attention to and haven’t given the attention on this platform that I wanted to since 2014/15. I hope to find the balance to write more along with the podcasts but baby steps.

I just want to take one last moment to thank you all so much for supporting us. You all being there to listen means the world to me. Those who know me well know that I could talk to thin air for days but knowing that there is a support system for this passion project means more than you could ever know. Please keep letting me know what you think, what you want to hear, and how wrong you think I am. Have a great NYE and very awesome 2020.
