Final Thoughts on 2018

Hey Everyone,

I wanted to take a couple minutes to wrap up 2018. It has been an interesting year for us here at the Thunderblog. The podcast
(GO SUBSCRIBE) has been better than ever. Greg and Matty D bring high energy and expert knowledge to each and every episode and I wouldn’t be able to do it without them. Blog-wise, there were some holes in our coverage. I intend to one day explain everything in greater depth but the short story is that 2018 saw some of the lowest lows to go along with some of the highest highs. In a year that I’ll probably remember as “The Year of the Rebuild,” I still couldn’t be happier with where the Thunderblog is and where we can go from here. We kept our football and baseball coverage robust on the podcast, accomplishing the first goal I set for the year, and we added a hockey podcast, Blue Line Icing, to the feed!

In 2019, I hope to continue building the podcast up. More guests. More Blue Line Icing. More basketball coverage. While I’ll be making a pivot professionally and going back to school, I’ll be making a more conscious effort to keep the blogs coming along with the podcast. No more excuses. No more thinking it’s just easier to only voice my opinion on the podcast and not put it on paper. That’s not why I started this blog five years ago. Five years, how about that!

Lastly, I want to thank you all for supporting us in 2018. Your support has meant the world to me and I love hearing your thoughts on the crazy takes we throw out into the world. You guys push me to want to build the podcast up, to continue to fine-tune my editing process, and to research more so my gambling picks won’t make us all bankrupt. Mostly, you all are the reason I keep this thing going. I want to keep hearing your thoughts in 2019. How I can make the blog and podcast bigger and better. How you love or hate our hot takes and the very clear bias we show. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for listening, reading, subscribing, tweeting, following, etc. It truly means the world to me. Have a safe NYE and very happy new year. Here’s to 2019!
