The End of Winter

“For the red, white, and blue, and the freedom we deserve”

It might be a fridge-essential, a tailgate hit, the perfect Beirut can, or an off-the-beaten-path brew.  Maybe it came from a large production company, a local microbrewery, or from over the oceans.

The only common denominator is that it has to be beer. So crack open that cold one in your hand and listen in, maybe just maybe I’ll sway you onto your new favorite American pastime.

THE SHAPE OF HOPS TO COME IMPERIAL IPA

It has been a while for the Beer Corner and I take full responsibility for that. But I have returned and have a great beer to introduce for y’all. The Neshaminy Creek Brewing’s The Shape of Hops to Come is a big time Imperial IPA that is perfect for remembering the dark and hoppy beers of winter as we steamroll towards the spring and summer beer season that promises a lighter and easier fare.

The Shape of Hops to Come packs a punch at 8.5% ABV and seeing how you can only get it in pounders, this is not a beer to drink quickly. Instead enjoy the savory taste of 5 different hops: Apollo, Newport, Simcoe, Topaz, and Citra. You will not miss that classic bitterness melded nicely with a pine-like aroma and just enough citrus to make it a perfect beer to pass the time during a classic March Nor’eastern. So get out and enjoy a few today before the Coronas and Bud Light Limes take over your friends’ coolers.

If any readers or tweeters have any advice on beers to spotlight, give my a shout. Remember, America was built on beer and don’t let anyone tell you differently.

Never stop being merry!
