Another great episode of the podcast. Matty D had a work commitment so we were graced with the presence of Greg “The Prophet” Piatelli. GP and I recapped week three of the baseball season, talked some Stadium Snacks and Bleacher Creatures, and we took a look at the second round matchups of the Stanley Cup Playoffs (full preview coming soon).
Bleacher Creatures of the Week:
Matty D should be back next week but thanks again to Greg!
Monday Night Lines:
I liked doing this a few weeks ago on Opening Day but let’s take a look some interesting plays for tonight:
Tampa Bay Rays (-117) at Baltimore Orioles: Chris Archer versus a great Baltimore lineup against Ubaldo Jimenez versus a lesser Tampa Bay offense. The Rays had been on the up-and-up but now they hit the road (where they’re 1-6). Interesting play to take the O’s as an underdog.
Washington Nationals at Colorado Rockies (-132) (O/U: 12): 100% take the over. Washington is riding a six-game winning streak into a park known for inflated batting numbers. Take the Nats against Colorado’s 1-3 starter with a 7.32 ERA, Tyler Anderson.
LA Dodgers (-148) at San Francisco Giants (O/U: 8): Take the under. I know it’s not so fun but both pitchers (Hyun-Jin Ryu and Matt Cain) can shut down lineups. I’ll give the edge to the hotter arm to start the year and the home team.
