My favorite part of the week. Cold. Hard. FAILS. Matt disappeared in the middle of last week only to send a vague snapchat Saturday afternoon in front of the Penn State Nittany Lion statue before reappearing in the Philadelphia suburbs Sunday afternoon. He sent a jumbled text Friday morning that was supposed to be his picks so I’ve done my best to decipher them. Before we jump into the picks, let’s recap the scoring:
G-Man wins Week 14 at 12-4 to 11-5, G-Man leads Weekly Series: 9-2-3 (Clinched 2016)
G-Man Overall: 133-75

Week 15 Cold Hard FAILS
By now you’ve seen the scores so I’m going to show who we picked…
Seahawks throttle Rams 24-3 – We both took Seattle: 1-0 G-Man/1-0 Matty D – Easy pick. Seattle ends up clinching the NFC West by the week’s end but their work isn’t done yet as they still need to clinch a bye. They played at home against Arizona on Saturday and finish up at San Francisco, most are probably W’s for the Seahawks so expect to see them take a week off in January.
Dolphins squish Jets 34-13 – MPD took Miami while I doubted Matt Moore: 1-1 G-Man/2-0 Matty D – Matt Moore had a HUGE night. I would have thought Miami was done after they lost Tannehill but I was WORNG.
Packers edge Bears 30-27 – We both picked Green Bay: 2-1 G-Man/3-0 Matty D – Aaron Rodgers proved why he’s one of the best as he and his boy Jordy Nelson connected in the final minute for a 60-yard reception that set up the game-winning FG. The Pack still has to host the desperate Vikings at Lambeau Field before the end important (most likely to be flexed) Week 17 showdown in Detroit. GB right now is on the outside looking in to the Playoff Party so the Vikings game is crucial.
Texans rally over Jags 21-20 – We both picked Houston: 3-1 G-Man/4-0 Matty D – Tom Savage, ladies and gentlemen! Guy controlled the game and led his team to the win as Houston retains the AFC South lead. The Texans and Titans are tied for the Division crown that should culminate in the New Years Day finale in Nashville.
Eagles fall short of comeback, fall 27-26 to Ravens – We both took Baltimore: 4-1 G-Man/5-0 Matty D – Matty D picked against the Eagles. This is not a drill. Penn State must have really messed him up.
Bills down Browns 33-13 – We both picked Buffalo: 5-1 G-Man/6-0 Matty D – Fun fact: if you went and shoveled snow at Ralph Wilson Stadium, the Bills would give you a free ticket. Seeing the Browns isn’t worth the manual labor in a frozen tundra for me.
Saints soar past Cards 48-41 – I took the hometown Cardinals while Matt took Breesy: 5-2 G-Man/7-0 Matty D – This is type of game Drew Brees waits for every season. Someone has the guts to challenge him to a shootout and his eyes light up with glee. Usually happens at the Superdome though.
Titans shock Chiefs 19-17 – We both picked KC: 5-3 G-Man/7-1 Matty D – This is the game we all wait for every season: Andy Reid forgets how clocks work. We saw it every year in Philly and this proud tradition has continued to Kansas City. It’d be a real shame if went away. I love that the Titans won’t go away. Setting up a great finish in a wacked out AFC South.
Giants top Lions 17-6 – I picked NYG while MPD took Detroit: 6-3 G-Man/7-2 Matty D – Of course Matt picked against the Giants. At 10-4, New York sits with the second-best record in the NFC. The down side? Their final two games are on the road and they are 3-3 on the road.
Colts thwomp Vikings 34-6 — We both picked Minnesota: 6-4 G-Man/7-3 Matty D – I’m shocked that Matt has picked Minnesota two weeks in a row. His full-homer mode wants the Vikings pick to be as high as possible for the Birds (currently 14th).
Steelers rally by Bengals 24-20 – We both picked Pittsburgh: 7-4 G-Man/8-3 Matty D – I remember seeing the updates of this while watching the Eagles and thinking “good for the Bengals finally breaking this streak.” Boy was I wrong.
Falcons smash Niners 41-13 – We both picked Atlanta: 8-4 G-Man/9-3 Matty D – Huge day for the Atlanta offense. They can take care of the NFC South by winning at Carolina and Tampa losing in New Orleans.
Pats beat Broncos 16-3 – We both picked New England: 9-4 G-Man/10-3 Matty D – Tommy and crew locked up the AFC East for the eighth-straight season. If you exclude the ’08 season when Brady was hurt, the Pats have won the division in every year he’s been under center except for 2002.
Raiders ground Chargers 19-16 – We both picked Oakland: 10-4 G-Man/11-3 Matty D – Oakland is in the playoffs!
Cowboys rally by Bucs 26-20 — We both picked Dallas: 11-4 G-Man/12-3 Matty D – I am thoroughly shocked that Matt picked the Cowboys. Shocked.
Panthers beat Redskins 26-15 — I picked Cousins while Matt went with Cam…

Good for Matt. He needed a win. Good news for me is that apparently he can only do it when he falls off the face of the Earth and that’s not something you want to be doing on a weekly basis. That’s how you become a drifter. Matty D wouldn’t cut it in the drifter world. Eagles are showing some signs towards the future but we’ll have to wait until next season to REALLY see it pay off. At this point, it’s time to play spoiler. Matty D should be back later this week with the LOCKS. Until then…
