My favorite part of the week. Cold. Hard. FAILS. Matt got lazy and forgot to write the LOCKS. Compounding the effect was our trip the 152nd edition of the Lehigh/Lafayette and the side-effects of that weekend. Well nonetheless, we still made our picks and we had six competing picks this week. Can Matty D bring himself back into the mix?
Week 11 Cold Hard FAILS
By now you’ve seen the scores so I’m going to show who we picked…
Panthers get by Saints 23-20 – I picked Carolina while Matty D picked the Saints: 1-0 G-Man/0-1 Matty D – MPD and I have actually made a habit of competing our picks on TNF. Another weird Thursday night showdown as injuries lurked around every corner. New Orleans tried to come back scoring 17 in the 4th by Carolina closed the door.
Steelers smack Browns 24-9 – We both picked Pittsburgh: 2-0 G-Man/1-1 Matty D – EASY.
Cowboys down Ravens 27-17 – We both picked Dallas: 3-0 G-Man/2-1 Matty D – DAKZEKES!
Lions stifle Jags 26-19 – We both picked Detroit: 4-0 G-Man/3-1 Matty D – The Lions stay hot leading into their traditional Thanksgiving game.
Colts hold off Titans 24-17 – Matty D took Indy while I picked the Titans: 4-1 G-Man/4-1 Matty D – Indy started hot in this one and shut down the Titan offense just enough to hold on.
Bills beat Bengals 16-12 – I picked Buffalo while MPD took Cincy: 5-1 G-Man/4-2 Matty D – Injuries reared their ugly heads again in this one as both Lesean McCoy and AJ Green left the game. Shady was able to pump in a touchdown before leaving, however.
Bucs edge Chiefs 19-17 – We both picked KC: 5-2 G-Man/4-3 Matty D – The Chiefs defense has been great all season although it was the Bucs D that made the difference in this one. Jameis tossed for over 300 yards as his sophomore season has been great.
Giants derp Bears 22-16 – We both picked the Giants: 6-2 G-Man/5-3 Matty D – The Giants have won five straight and sit at 7-3. Four of their final six games are on the road, where they are 2-2. Those trips are Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Philly, and Washington. The Eagles and Redskins games will be in the final two weeks of the season will should absolutely impact the division race.
Vikings drop Cardinals 30-24 – We both picked Minnesota: 7-2 G-Man/6-3 Matty D – I was shocked to see Matty D pick the Vikings here considering he wants the best first round pick possible but Arizona has struggled all season, especially against good defenses. Minnesota finds Thursday’s game against Detroit as the set piece for the final drive of the season.
Dolphins storm back over Rams 14-10 — MPD picked the Dolphins while I reached for Goff: 7-3 G-Man/7-3 Matty D – Goff looked decent in his debut but the Rams defense couldn’t hold Miami from coming back late in the 4th quarter. Miami finds themselves a game back in the AFC Wild Card race entering the final stretch of the season. Their final three games will be against all of their AFC East opponents.
Pats close out Niners 30-17 – We both picked New England: 8-3 G-Man/8-3 Matty D – A weird stormy game that New England lead 13-10 entering the 4th but TB and Billy the Coach took off as Brady tossed four TDs in first game in his hometown area.
Seahawks Russell by Eagles 26-15 – We both picked Seattle: 9-3 G-Man/9-3 Matty D – A bummer of a game because the Birds made it closer than we thought. Nelson Agalor’s play turned the momentum back to the Seahawks every single time he messed something up. The worst was the illegal formation though, that TD would have been crucial.
Redskins beat Packers 42-24 – I picked Washington while Matty D took the Pack: 10-3 G-Man/9-4 Matty D – Kirk Cousins looked fantastic in this game. 375 yards and 3 touchdowns. The pieces around Rodgers can’t match that, especially with that O-Line… unlike Dallas and the final winner of the week.
Raiders vencer Texanos en la ciudad de México 27-20 — I picked Oakland while Matty D picked the Texans, again…

Matty D Overall: 90-71
Wow. I’ve Dormied Matty D before Thanksgiving. This is the biggest route in the history of the blog. Everything we do competitively has been close, up until this year. Matty D can’t keep up with the times. He can’t matchup the G-Man. I am the King of Pick’em. At the very least, I tie Year 4 but most likely, I WIN Year 4. Third year in a row. Birds gotta get it together but they’re not done yet. Everyone enjoy your turkey! Matty D will be back at some point this week with the Locks, date TBD. Until then…
