Matty D’s 2016 Week 10 NFL Cold Hard Locks WRITTEN BY the G-Man

Hello Thunderfaithful! As I referred to in Week 9’s FAILS, I am taking on double duty this week in writing both the LOCKS and then the FAILS next Tuesday as per usual. Matty D needed to run away from how badly I’m crushing him in Pick’em even though he actually won last week.

Year to Date:

Matty D wins Week 9 10-3 to 8-5, G-Man leads Weekly Series: 5-2-2
G-Man Overall: 78-55
Matty D Overall: 74-59

Week 10 Cold Hard Locks

(G-Man and Matty D have same picks unless otherwise noted.)

Thursday Night Football

Baltimore over Cleveland
This is an easy pick; and it’s one of the few picks MPD and I agreed on.

Sunday

1pm Slate

Atlanta over the Eagles

Listen, I’ll be whole-heartedly rooting for the Eagles and I hope I’m wrong. The Birds are a good home team and the last time they returned home from two-straight road losses against a division lead on a long rest, the Eagles came out on top. The game comes down to the secondary vs. Julio Jones, and I think Julio creates a lot of separation.

Matty D is taking the Eagles

Tampa Bay over Chicago

Neither team has a particularly good defense but the Jameis/Evans connection is the difference.

Denver over New Orleans

The Broncos offense is in shambles and needs to rebound after not being able to stop anything on the ground. They’ll be more prepared for Mark Ingram and the secondary makes Sunday not so Easy Breesy.

Matty D is taking the Saints

Titans over Packers

I’m reaching here, especially if Demarco Murray isn’t 100%. Green Bay has had issues on the road and Marcus Mariotta is a talented QB.

Matty D is being smart taking Rodgers and the Packers

Kansas City over Carolina

KC looked sharp last week. Their defense gives Cam more trouble as his Super Bowl hangover just won’t go away.

Matty D is taking the Panthers

Los Angeles over New York Jets

This seemed like a lay-up for me but only 37% of the espn.com pick’em population has picked LA. I know the QB isn’t great for the Rams, but Gurley!

Vikings over Redskins
I’m a big believer in bounce-back games. While I’d like for the Vikings pick to climb up the draft board for the Birds, I think something clicks for Minnesota and Kirk Cousins reverts.

Matty D is taking the Redskins

Houston over Jacksonville
The Jags haven’t nearly been what we thought they could aspire to be this season in part to woes at running back. The Texans’ defense will make it tough for Blake Bortles to shine through in this one.

4pm Showdowns

San Diego over Miami

Jay Ajayi could bounce back in this one but he’ll be outrushed by his SD counterpart in Melvin Gordon. Phillip Rivers and his crew move to .500 as it seems luck is finally smiling their way.

Dallas over Pittsburgh

DAKZEKES! Zeke opens it up for Prescott as he’ll find Cole Beasley and Jason Witten wide open over the middle. Big Ben will need to be 100% to make a dent.

Matty D is taking the Steelers

Arizona over San Francisco

David Johnson shoves everything he’s got down Chip’s throat.

Sunday Night Football

New England over Seattle

The world has been waiting for this since Super Bowl XLIX. Tom Brady has been spectacular so far this season. He and the Pats blow up Richard Sherman and the Legion of Doom as they’ll struggle to travel East.

Monday Night Football

New York Football Giants over Cincinnati
Eli looked shaky against an Eagles defense that shows more pressure than Cincy does. He finds Breckham, Cruz, and Sheppard spreading out the field while the Giants’ defense can hold off Andy Dalton and AJ Green

Matty D is taking the Bengals

Oh boy. SEVEN competing picks between Matty D and myself, this is our most exciting week head-to-head. Of course he picks both New York teams to lose at Met Life this weekend, he’s probably still upset about last week (I know I am). Disagree with our picks? Let us know in the comments!
