It’s been a while since I’ve posted the FAILS. Coming into the week, I had a one pick lead on top of my 4-3 weekly lead. Let’s see if Week 8 changed anything.
Week 8 Cold Hard FAILS
Here are our Picks if you missed them
Pats smack Dolphins 36-7 – Was there any doubt about Tommy? 4 TDs, too easy.
We both picked New England: 1-0 G-Man/1-0 Matty D
Chiefs drop Lions 45-10 – The final London game proved to be the least exciting as Alex Smith was able to run over the Lions. MPD was right, the Lions are a mess. Sunday was a big day for KC.
We both picked Kansas City: 2-0 G-Man/2-0 Matty D
Bucs edge Falcons 23-20 (OT) – The Falcons charged back in this one with Julio Jones finally having a big day again but the Bucs were able to pull it out in OT.
We both picked Atlanta: 2-1 G-Man/2-1 Matty D
Cards soar over Browns 34-20 – Carson Palmer had a DAY tossing for 374 yards and four touchdowns as the Cardinals made up for a horrible first half with 24 points in the second half.
We both picked Arizona: 3-1 G-Man/3-1 Matty D
Rams beat down Niners 27-6 – Todd Gurley ran all over the Niners defense rushing for 133 yards becoming the first rookie to start his career with four-straight 100 yard games since 1991.
We both picked St. Louis: 4-1 G-Man/4-1 Matty D
Saints beat Giants in 52-49 shootout – Defense was optional in this game as both Drew Brees and Eli Manning tossed seven touchdowns.
I didn’t believe how Easy Breesy it would be: 4-2 G-Man/5-1 Matty D
Vikings edge Bears 23-20 – AD ran up and down Solider Field all day for 103 yards while the Bears lost Matt Forte and Eddie Royal to knee injuries.
We both picked Minnesota: 5-2 G-Man/6-1 Matty D
Ravens edge Chargers 29-26 – Matty D stopped waiting for the Ravens to show up a little too soon. Joe Flacco accounted for both Raven touchdowns while Justin Tucker kicked four field goals.
We both picked San Diego: 5-3 G-Man/6-2 Matty D
Bengals down Steelers 16-10 – The Bengals may have had a tough game offensively but their defense showed why they are a tough team to beat. Cincy’s D picked off Big Ben twice while sacking him three times spoiling the QB’s return from injury.
We both picked Cincy: 6-3 G-Man/7-2 Matty D
Raiders down Jets 34-20 – The Raiders are a legitimate team; Derek Carr’s four TDs and Charles Wooden’s league-leading fifth interception proved me wrong.
I picked the Jets and Matt picked Oakland: 6-4 G-Man/8-2 Matty D
Texans rebound over Titans 20-6 – This was a weak game, aside from the Texans’ D sacking Zach Mettenberger 7 times.
I picked Tennessee while Matt picked Houston: 6-5 G-Man/9-2 Matty D
Seahawks survive Cowboys 13-12 – Seattle finally played well down the stretch as Russell Wilson carried his team down the field to set up Steven Hauschka and the winning field goal in Big D.
We both picked Seattle: 7-5 G-Man/10-2 Matty D
Broncos down Packers 29-10 – Peyton Manning dismantled the Packers D while the Broncos D dismantled Aaron Rodgers. CJ Anderson finally had a big week and of course I sat him in fantasy. Maybe he shouldn’t tell every fantasy football player to drop him.
We both picked Green Bay: 7-6 G-Man/10-3 Matty D
Panthers edge Colts 29-26 (OT) – Andrew Luck and the Colts are in shambles; Cam Newton and the Panthers are hot. Carolina blew a 23-6 lead in the 4th quarter but Graham Gano nailed two field goals in OT to keep the Panthers perfect. Despite not the best game statistically, Newton has complete control as he has evolved into a star QB in the NFL.

Well we’re back to being all tied up in the weekly series but Matt has retaken the overall picks lead. At least the Eagles didn’t lose. I’ll get my revenge in Week 9.
