Coming into to Week 4, MPD had a week on me in the weekly series and a game on me in the overall standings. Let’s see if I can bounce back in light of the Eagles loss…
Week 4 Cold Hard FAILS
Here are our Picks if you missed them
– Big Ben out, Vick in. Neither team looked particularly strong in this one as both team’s running back carried their struggling QBs. The Steelers had a few opportunities to walk away with the W, but some missed FGs enabled the Ravens to come up winners.
I picked Baltimore while Matty D went with Pittsburgh (once again to appease his muscle): 1-0 G-Man/0-1 Matty D
Jets down Dolphins 27-14 – The Jets looked strong, the Dolphins did not. Ryan Tannehill needs a better O-Line while the Brandon Marshall trade is paying off for the Jets. Joe Philbin has been fired as HC of the Dolphins as both teams head into their post-London bye week.
We both picked New York: 2-0 G-Man/1-1 Matty D
Colts edge Jags 16-13 (OT) – Fun Fact about our picks: I make them before the Thursday Night game and rarely change them Sundays, including with injury. Case in point: I picked the Colts and squeak by with the pick just as Matt Hasselback did.
I picked Indy while Matty D picked the Jags: 3-0 G-Man/1-2 Matty D
Giants stun Bills 24-10 – Eli Manning may have been down, but he is not out. He walked into Buffalo and stared Rex Ryan down with his derp face all the way to the victory.
We both picked Buffalo: 3-1 G-Man/1-3 Matty D
Panthers down Bucs 37-23 – Matty D pretty much called this in the Locks: Jared Allen and the Carolina Defense forced Jameis Winston to make mistakes. Doug Martin and Vincent Jackson did have strong games for Tampa Bay but the Panther D took care of business.
We both picked Carolina: 4-1 G-Man/2-3 Matty D
Redskins beat Eagles 23-20 – Another weak start from our birds puts them in too deep of a hole to dig themselves out of. Gut check time in Philly, let’s see if Chip can take another 1-3 start to the playoffs.
We both picked the Eagles: 4-2 G-Man/2-4 Matty D
Bears edge Raiders 22-20 – It must have been the Blackhawks in the building that brought the winning spark to Solider Field as the Bears showed small signs of life.
We both picked Chicago: 4-3 G-Man/2-5 Matty D
Falcons dominate Texans 48-21 – Matty D was right in thinking Julio would have a correction game but Atlanta showed they aren’t just all Julio Jones. The run game provided two TDs while Leonard Hankerson picked up Jones’ slack in the receiving core.
I picked Atlanta while Matt continued to love Houston: 5-3 G-Man/2-6 Matty D
Bengals down Chiefs 36-21 – Jeremy Hill took over this game scoring two rushing touchdowns for Cincy while the Chiefs scored all their points from kicker Cairo Santos going SEVEN FOR SEVEN.
We both picked Cincy: 6-3 G-Man/3-6 Matty D
Chargers beat Browns 30-27 – The Chargers squeak away with the win on a late field goal as Phillip Rivers tossed for 358 yards and three touchdowns.
We both picked San Diego: 7-3 G-Man/4-6 Matty D
Packers rock 49ers 17-3 – Aaron Rodgers may not have put up huge fantasy numbers but he had himself a great game as the Pack continues to be the class of the NFC.
We both picked Green Bay: 8-3 G-Man/5-6 Matty D
Rams survive Cards 24-22 – The Rams have taken out both the Cardinals and Seahawks to start 2015 as they hand Arizona their first loss of the season.
We both picked Arizona: 8-4 G-Man/5-7 Matty D
Broncos slip by Vikings 23-20 – Peyton Manning didn’t have the strongest game but Ronnie Hillman picked up the slack. Teddy Bridgewater made up for his poor showing in Week 3 but the Denver defense was too much as they seemed to sack Teddy all afternoon.
We both picked Denver: 9-4 G-Man/6-7 Matty D
Saints breeze by Cowboys 26-20 (OT) – Matt called me a traitor, but once again I made this picked when it seemed like Easy Breesy wasn’t going to play. Glad to see I was wrong as the Birds still remain a game out in the East.
Matty D picked New Orleans while I picked Dallas: 9-5 G-Man/7-7 Matty D
Seahawks illegal bat Lions 13-10 – Aside from the bad call, the Seahawks played a fantastic game of football and Chancellor’s punch-out before the illegal batting proves he is the keystone to that team. Seattle’s offense still needs to get their first half game together though but we have three more quarters of the season to go.
We both picked Seattle:
G-Man Wins Week 4 10-5/8-7; Series Tied 2-2
G-Man Overall: 39-23
Matty D Overall: 38-24
No squeaking by this week for me this week. The season may be tied, but I take over in the overall. One quarter through the season and a lot of storylines have been built up. Let’s see what new ones will emerge as the season continues on.
