Hello Thunderfaithful! Matty D’s computer is still under weather so once again I’ve been called in to write our weekly Cold Hard Locks. By the time I post this, the 1:00 games will have a begun but the show must go on as they say. Let’s take a look at last week’s results: Matthew Stafford’s late game-winning drive saved me from losing two in a row as Matty D and I tied 9-4.
Season Series Standings:
Matty D – 92-43
G-Man – 89-46
Weekly Series: Matty D leads 3-2-5
Now let the Week 11 madness being:
Week 9 Cold Hard Locks
(G-Man and Matty D have same picks unless otherwise noted)
Bye Week Teams: Dallas, New York Jets, Jacksonville, Baltimore
Thursday at 8:25
Bills over Dolphins – I am awful at picking the stupid Thursday Night Football games. Sammy Watkins must have heard I was starting him because he did not show up. Matty D thought the Bills would win as well but deliberately picked the Dolphins because I picked the Bills.
Matty D – Dolphins
Sunday at 1:00
Falcons over Panthers – Superman and co. looked AWFUL against the Eagles Monday Night but they should be better this week. It’s pretty easy to improve from that type of game but that defense is still banged up. Expect Steven Jackson to run all over the Panthers.
Bears over Vikings – Now here’s a team who needs to bounce back. The Bears still haven’t won at Solider Field. Perfect time to Beardown.
Saints over Bengals – Andy Dalton may not be able to repeat his 2.0 QB Rating but he certainly isn’t going to bounce back in the Superdome. Easy Brees-y.
Browns over Texans – Clowney is making his return at the Dawg Pound, watching him and JJ Swatt is going to be exciting. But this isn’t the Browns we’ve known, this the AFC North LEADING Cleveland Browns. Hoyer and crew know how to get the job done.
Broncos over Rams – The QB carousel in St. Louis just can’t compare to Peyton Manning and the cavalcade of weapons. I’m praying Julius Thomas has a big week; I need it in fantasy.
Seahawks over Chiefs – I can see why Matty D picked the Chiefs here. It’s in KC, and the Seahawks are struggling this year. I’m going with Seattle because Russell Wilson has been solid recently and more importantly, Beast Mode is BACK. He won’t score four TDs again, but Lynch is the key to a Seahawks win.
Matty D – Chiefs
49ers over Giants – Kaep is figuring out this season as it comes along. He and Anquan Boldin connected big time while Frank Gore looked like a vintage Gore. Aldon Smith is set to return for the Niners as well, expect their D to flatten Eli.
Buccaneers over Redskins – I don’t trust RGIII here. Alford Morris is the key for the Redskins to do well but RGIII needs to get it going. Josh McCown should have a big day going against a weak Redskins defense.
Sunday at 4:05
Chargers over Raiders – I don’t want to overuse the Arnold clip but GO CHARGERS, GO! Just don’t run it up too badly, Phillip.
Sunday at 4:25
Lions over Cardinals – Drew Stanton is back under center for Arizona and while he did went the first time Carson Palmer went down, Matthew Stafford and Megatron have some business to attend to. This is going to be a shootout with Golden Tate being the difference.
Eagles over Packers – FLY EAGLES FLY baby!!! This is the truest test for our birds and for the Sanchise. Mark claims to not be as nervous as he was in New York, maybe he took Aaron Rodgers’ advice: R-E-L-A-X.
Sunday at 8:30
Patriots over Colts – This is going to be a fantastic game. Brady versus Luck. The Golden Boy against the Caveman. Both teams are well rested coming off their bye weeks. Luck might out-gain Brady tonight, but Tommy Terrific is going to pull it out.
Monday at 8:30
Steelers over Titans – Big Ben and the Steelers may have put up a poor showing last week in New York, but that isn’t going to happen two weeks in a row. Big Ben did post 343 passing yards, he just couldn’t take care of the ball. The Titans D will have a tough time matching the Steelers’ passing attack as well as the RB tandem in LeVeon Bell and Legarrette Blount.
