Week 1 Sit ‘Em Start ‘Em

Welcome back my friends. It’s that magical time of year, with merely hours until the opening kickoff of the 2014 season. Everyone has a clean slate on this fantasy season, we’re all currently tied for first. So much hope, a first place trophy on many a mind. For some, Week 1 will bring joy, blissful jubilation. For others, Week 1 will crush hopes of a perfect fantasy season, leaving a bleak outlook. May the odds be ever in your favor. Without further ado, my Week 1 Sit ‘Em Start ‘Em:

NFL: Chicago Bears at Dallas Cowboys

Jay Cutler – Chicago Bears – QB

I think Cutler is in for a fantastic fantasy season.  If he stays healthy this season, he could be a top tier quarterback.  Expect him to have his way with the Buffalo defense. – Start ‘Em

Cam Newton – Carolina Panthers – QB

One of the most overrated fantasy QB’s in my opinion.  He’ll be going up against a tough Tampa Bay defense, plus he’s still not completely healed from a cracked rib. – Sit ‘Em

Joique Bell – Detroit Lions – RB

Joique is coming off a great 2013 season and I see him picking up right where he left off.  Sure, Reggie Bush is there, but Joique will still get his carries.  He’ll also be active in the passing game, getting a few screens from Matt Stafford which he could easily take to the house.  Definite start. – Start ‘Em

Chris Johnson – New York Jets – RB

Sorry to break it to you, but the days where Chris Johnson was a fantasy powerhouse are over.  Don’t expect much from either Johnson on any Jet come Sunday. – Sit ‘Em

Michael Crabtree – San Francisco 49ers – WR

He’s baaaaack.  A healthy Crabtree means happy fantasy owners.  I’m a little biased because I got Crabtree with a 13th round pick in my keeper league, but Crabtree is for sure in for a huge year. – Start ‘Em

Update: It has been reported that Crabtree’s status for Sunday’s contest is in question due to a calf injury. Keep an eye on his status this week, if he’s active for Sunday, start him.

Eric Decker – New York Jets – WR

See Chris Johnson above. – Sit ‘Em

  1. Dude, are you serious? Neither Johnson or Decker? Against Oakland, who have nothing in the way of anything resembling a Defense? What are you smoking?
