Admittedly, I did not finish this until after the first game of this series ended. The O’s hit four home runs off of Joe Saunders while Ubaldo Jimenez went eight innings allowing one unearned run and striking out seven Rangers. The four homers bring the Orioles’ total up to 46 in June, the most in the bigs. The Rangers entered this series having won two of three from the Twins while the Orioles are coming off a series against the Rays in which they lost three of four. The Rangers have now lost two of their last ten and are quickly plummeting out of the AL West. While they are 12th in runs scored (339), the Rangers have allowed the second-most runs in major league baseball (402). The O’s can certainly take advantage off of this fact with the way they’ve been swinging the bats. Baltimore is 11th in runs scored (343), 3rd in batting average (.265), and 6th in slugging percentage (.418). Nelson Cruz and Adam Jones have been leading the way for Baltimore offensively. Cruz is leading the American League in home runs and runs batted in and is bating .308 against the Rangers so far this season. Jones is batting .571 with two homers and six runs batted in against the Rangers.
