Japanese Pitcher Channels His Inner Henry Rowengartner By Throwing a Crazy Eephus Pitch

Found this on the Bleacher Report. This is Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters (of the Nippon Professional Baseball League in Japan) pitcher Kazuhito Tadano. What a crazy pitch right? No one is quite sure why it wasn’t a strike. I’d be really confused too if was the catcher, he barely had to move his glove! I wish we could see the trajectory line of the ball to see where it crossed the strike zone. Anyway, my mind immediately raced back to the classic baseball film, Rookie of the Year:

I have to give credit to Tadano for throwing it overhand but Rowengartner was able to get the K.
