The Portland Trail Blazers played their second straight game in the Lone Star State last night against the Houston Rockets. In the opposite fashion of their previous game, the Blazers took a 12-point lead into the fourth quarter. It was an electrified game from James Harden that propelled the Rockets to rally and to send this game into overtime; the Rockets would outscore Portland 12-7 in OT to win 118-113. Harden finished up with 41 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists, and 6 steals. The Blazers had three scorers with at least twenty points: LaMarcus Aldridge (28), Wesley Matthews (26), and Damian Lillard (21). Aldridge also had 12 rebounds to post a double-double as did Robin Lopez (11 points/11 rebounds).
CJ McCollum was once again the second guard off the bench behind Mo Williams. Despite Matthews going on another tear last night, CJ saw six more minutes than he did on Friday. His stats: 14:46 Min, 7 Pts (3-7 FG, 1-3 3Pt), 4 Reb, 1 Ast, 1 TO, 1 PF, +9.
The Blazers continue their road trip tomorrow night in Memphis to take on the Grizzlies. This is the second of three meetings between these two teams; the Grizzlies won the previous matchup 98-81. CJ McCollum scored 0 points (0-4 FG) in 10 minutes in that game.
