TODAY IS THE DAY!

The Lehigh University Club B Hockey team takes on East Stroudsberg University for the Keystone Hockey League Championship today at 3:15pm at the Steel Ice Center. Lehigh won the first matchup 7-2 back in November while ESU took the second game 7-3 a few weeks ago. Because of the goal differential, Lehigh was took the top seed into the playoffs while ESU took the second seed. After winning their semifinal matchups against Elizabethtown College and Desales University respectively, Lehigh and ESU meet for the inaugural Keystone Hockey League title.

THE LINES:

The Mountain Hawks are coached by the greatest coaching tandem the world has ever seen: Kyrsten Swierzewski and Kina de Cordoba. It is no surprise their expertise of the sport has helped lead Lehigh to the Championship Game.

PLAYER SPOTLIGHT:

The player to watch out for is Peter “Gibby” McHugh. Gibby leads the team in scoring this season and is one of the best pure skaters the team has to offer. Gibby’s talents also make him one of the better playmakers on the ice so watch out for him to setup his linemates, Jay Fraser and Kenny Turnbull, for goals as well.

Look out for the Iceman as well. Greg Mustillo is the veteran member of this Lehigh team and knows how to enforce as well as score. I couldn’t find a picture of Greg playing hockey that wasn’t from high school but his fantasy championship should be enough to convince you that he knows how to win in big moments like today.

As I announced on Thursday night, Lehigh’s Club Sports department has given me permission to broadcast this game on Ustream.
