ALUMNI WATCH: CJ McCollum Scored 15 Points Last Night Against the Thunder

The Portland Trail Blazers and the Oklahoma City Thunder faced off last night in Portland for a battle between two of the Western Conference’s best. The Blazers took a ten point lead into the lead but the Thunder were able to outscore Portland 35-25 in the third quarter and then again 18-15 in the fourth to win 98-95. Kevin Durant led all players in scoring with 36 Points while both LaMarcus Aldridge and Robin Lopez posted double-doubles for the Blazers.

CJ McCollum was into the sixth man role once again last night as Mo Williams is still away from the team. Once again CJ made the most of the extra time on the floor, his stats:

26:34 minutes, 15 Pts (5-12 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), 1 Reb, 3 Ast, 5 TO, 2 Stl, -3

Most of CJ’s stats came from his play in the first half, scoring 13 of his 15 points on 4-5 from the field with the two free throws. Both of his steals and two of his three assists came in the first half as well and he only turned the ball over twice in that half. The second half was not as good for CJ as he shot 1 for 7 and turned the ball over 3 times.

The Blazers hit the road tonight for their final game before the All Star Break. They will be in Los Angeles taking on the Clippers who have benefitted very well from Chris Paul returning to the lineup. Mo Williams is expected to travel with the team to LA, but whether or not he will be playing has not been announced yet. CJ should be guarding Jamal Crawford when does see the floor. This game will tip-off tonight at 10:30 from the Staples Center.
