Another Tortorella Team, Another Opening Faceoff Brawl

Don’t think that the scenery change did anything to alter John Tortorella’s coaching mentality. Last night, Torts picked up his second opening faceoff fight in as many years. Now while I agree you can do almost whatever you want in Canada, the line needs to be drawn somewhere. This type of coaching has become glorified in an NHL where entertainment value is selling at increasingly high premiums. Don’t worry Torts, keep coaching your teams like it’s a peewee league and history will hold you up with the likes of Scotty Bowman and Herb Brooks.
