Bowl Season: Day Three, The Sheraton Hawaii Bowl

Bowl Season Continues On:

Day Two Picks and Results:

BEEF ‘O’ BRADY’S BOWL: East Carolina runs over Ohio 37-20 – More like Vintavious Cooper ran over the Bobcats. Cooper for 198 yards out of 281 total rushing yards for the Pirates. The bigger story was the ECU Defense that forced three interceptions off of Ohio QB Tyler Tettleton. The Tettleton streak continued for Ohio as he only threw one TD pass and they fall to 1-5 when he throws less than two touchdown passes. Weird trend. We all picked ECU so no change in the standings.

Here are the Standings through Day Two:

1) JSB: 4-1

T2) G-Man, Ariel Glassberg, Jake Goldberg: 3-2

5) Matty D: 2-3

Today’s Bowl:

Oregon State Beavers (6-6, 4-5 PAC-12) vs. Boise State Broncos (8-4, 6-2 MW) at 8pm on ESPN

Oregon State’s new logo may not be pretty, but the Beavers are bowling this year. They started their season with a rough loss to Eastern Washington but got on a roll until a rough home loss to Stanford completely derailed their season. The Beavers are riding a five-game losing streak including a close loss in the Civil War. Boise State’s first season in the Mountain West Conference went well, but they will be without their now former main man: Chris Peterson. Their head coach was scooped up by Washington in the beginning of the coaching carrousel and it could hurt the Broncos as they’ll go up against the 3rd best passing offense in the land. QB Sean Mannion threw for 4403 passing yards, 36 touchdowns but 14 interceptions for Oregon State and they have the best receiver in college football in Brandin Cooks, the new PAC-12 single-season receptions holder. Boise State has the 32nd best rushing offense in the land but Oregon State has faced smash-mouth-type teams before. The Broncos will need to try to make this one about the turnovers. JSB believes in “Potato State” but Matt D and I are going with Oregon State.

This will a great Christmas Eve special and great one to send us into the holiday. There won’t be a game tomorrow so I’ll be back on Thursday for Day Four of Bowl Season. Merry Christmas everyone!
